I learned mid foot strike running almost 20 years ago, although never used Newton shoes. 8 years ago converted to zero drop shoes. Finally bought a pair of Newtons and I am pleasantly surprised.

I have had several newton running shoes in the past, but haven't trained in them for several years due to lack of training. I like Newtons because they tend to be more durable than other running shoes. I use my gravity 11's on nearly all types of terrain including trails and road.
I will say to use caution when adjusting to newton shoes. I personally will run in them for two days and switch to my other more cushioned shoes to let my calves recover a bit while I adjust.
